Commercial Windows
Aluminum windows for hospitality, multifamily, commercial, student housing, and senior living openings, including impact-rated sliders, fixed lites, and hung units, and PTAC openings. The quote follows the type, the size, and the frame finish on the specification.
Division 8 USA supplies commercial windows to the opening schedule. A sliding sash, a casement, an awning, a tilt-and-turn, a single-hung, a double-hung, a bifold, a fixed lite, an impact-rated unit, and a PTAC-integrated opening are different requests. Where a manufacturer sheet prints a performance figure, it is shown on that window’s page as a reference. It is not a Division 8 USA test report. Send the glazing requirement with the specification section if the documents include it.

Sliding Commercial Windows
Horizontal sliding sashes for commercial openings where the plan wants ventilation without a swing into the room.

Casement Commercial Windows
Side-hinged sashes that swing out, used where the documents call for a casement operator.

Awning Commercial Windows
Top-hinged sashes that project outward, often placed where the opening should shed rain while cracked.

Tilt-and-Turn Commercial Windows
One sash with two operations: a tilt inward from the head, and a turn inward on a side hinge.

Single-Hung Commercial Windows
A vertical window in which the lower sash moves and the upper sash stays fixed.

Double-Hung Commercial Windows
Both the upper and lower sashes travel vertically.

Bifold Commercial Windows
Multiple panels that fold and stack, used when the documents show a folding opening rather than a slider.

Fixed Commercial Windows
A glazed frame with no operable sash, used for light and view.

PTAC-Integrated Windows
A window assembly coordinated with a packaged terminal opening in the same wall area.

Impact Sliding Windows
A horizontal sliding window specified for impact resistance, with one or more sashes on a track.

Impact Fixed Windows
A fixed, or picture, window specified for impact resistance. It does not open.

Impact Hung Windows
A vertical hung window specified for impact resistance, as single-hung or double-hung.
| Type | Operation | Use this page when |
|---|---|---|
| Sliding | Sash travels sideways | The elevation shows a horizontal slider or bypass panels |
| Casement | Side-hinged, swings out | The hardware is a casement and the handing is drawn |
| Awning | Top-hinged, projects out | The ventilator hinges at the head |
| Tilt-and-turn | Tilts in and turns in | The specification names tilt-and-turn hardware |
| Single-hung | Lower sash only | The upper sash is fixed |
| Double-hung | Both sashes move | The type mark says double-hung |
| Bifold | Panels fold and stack | The opening is folding, not a two-panel slider |
| Fixed / picture | Does not open | The lite is for daylight only |
| Impact sliding | Slider specified for debris resistance | The specification calls for an impact-rated horizontal slider |
| Impact fixed | Fixed lite specified for debris resistance | The picture window is impact-rated and does not open |
| Impact hung | Single-hung or double-hung, impact-rated | The schedule says hung and names an impact requirement |
| PTAC-integrated | Coordinated with a sleeve | A packaged terminal unit shares the wall opening |
Quote
What a window request needs.
- Opening typeUse the type mark, not a photo.
- SizesWidth and height for each mark, and the quantity.
- Frame finishThe finish named on the schedule.
- GlazingInclude it when the specification requires a particular glass.
- Project locationSo delivery can be priced for that job.
Published figures
Impact and PTAC reference values.
The comparison uses the figures printed on the product pages for PTAC, impact sliding, impact fixed, and impact hung windows. Standard casement, awning, tilt-and-turn, and bifold pages do not have a matching published table, so those values are not invented here.
| Window | U | Acoustic | Wind | Water | Approval code printed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PTAC | U ≤ 0.5 W/m²·K | ≤ 45 dB | ≥ 2.8 kPa | ≥ 450 Pa | Standards named: FPA, NOA, AS2047, NFRC, CSA. No single Florida code on the PTAC page. |
| Impact sliding | U ≤ 0.5 W/m²·K | ≤ 35 dB | ≥ 3.5 kPa | ≥ 1200 Pa | FL30923 |
| Impact fixed | U ≤ 0.5 W/m²·K | ≤ 40 dB | ≥ 3.5 kPa | ≥ 1500 Pa | FL40279 |
| Impact hung | U ≤ 0.5 W/m²·K | ≤ 55 dB | ≥ 2.2 kPa | ≥ 900 Pa | Not printed on the hung page |
Finishes, glass, screens, and hardware
The lists below are the options named for the aluminum PTAC, impact sliding, impact fixed, and impact hung windows. A finish or glass makeup is quoted only when the specification or the request names it. Division 8 USA does not assign a default.

- Silver grey powder coat and silver anodizing
- Woodland grey (satin), Ironstone, Shale grey (satin)

- Glass types named: frosted, toughened, low-e, tinted, acoustic, and security laminated
- Fire-resistant and bullet-resistant glass are named as special performance glass. Availability for a given opening was not shown as a standard makeup. Flag them on the quote if the specification requires them.
Screens named
- Stainless steel mesh, fiberglass mesh, and retractable screen
- Fiberglass mesh is described as the standard screen
- Fixed, in-swing, and rolling screens are also named
- Midrail and handle height are described as made to the order, with no default height published
Grilles named

Hardware lines named
- Doric, CMECH, Hoppe, SMOO, SIEGENIA, KINLONG, ROTO, and GEZE
- The quote uses the hardware line on the specification. These names are the options listed in the window literature, not a stock list.
Confirm before pricing
- Several source color names were misspelled (including “Commen,” “Stain,” and “Sain”). The names above use the readable finish names. Confirm the finish code on a chart or sample before release.
- Screen and grille paragraphs are copied across product pages, including onto the fixed window. A fixed lite does not receive an operating screen unless the drawings show one.
- The factory states a 10-year warranty on hardware and on the window. That is not a Division 8 USA warranty term.
