Commercial Windows
Fixed Commercial Windows
A glazed frame with no operable sash, used for light and view.
Fixed windows, sometimes called picture windows, do not open. They are specified next to operable units or as the full opening when ventilation is handled elsewhere. Pricing follows the frame size and the glazing the specification requires.
If any part of the unit must open, it is not a fixed window. Call out the operable neighbor, such as an awning above or a casement beside it, as a separate line.
Where it is specified

- Combined units with a separate ventilator
- Elevations marked fixed or picture

Questions
Before you price this item.
Does a fixed window provide ventilation?
No. A fixed window is glazed in a frame and does not open.
What is the difference between fixed and picture?
On this site the terms refer to the same non-operable opening. Use the wording on your specification.
