Commercial Windows
Bifold Commercial Windows
Multiple panels that fold and stack, used when the documents show a folding opening rather than a slider.
A bifold opening uses hinged panels that accordion to one or both sides. It is specified for wide interior or exterior openings when a sliding panel will not produce the clear opening on the drawings. Confirm whether the documents mean a window wall or a folding door before the quote is priced.
Panel count, fold direction, and whether the stack is inside or outside the opening all change the hardware. Send the elevation that shows the stack.
Where it is specified
- Wide openings marked as folding or bifold
- Interior partitions where the panels stack clear of the walkway

Questions
Before you price this item.
Is a bifold the same as a sliding window?
No. A slider travels on a track in one plane. A bifold hinges and stacks.
What drawing should I attach?
The elevation that shows panel count and which jamb the panels stack toward.
